Urad Dal & Coconut Chutney



1 Cup freshly grated Coconut.

2 tbsp roasted Urad dal.

4  flakes Garlic.

Few sprigs corriander leaves

1 Green chilli.

Salt to taste.

For Tempering.

1 tsp Oil.

1/2 tsp Rai ( Mustard seeds).

6 Curry leaves.

5 flakes Garlic

pinch of Hing ( Asafoetida.)


Grind all the above ingredients  to a smooth paste using water.Heat Oil,add rai,hing and curry leaves and garlic.

Add to the chutney mixture.Mix well.

 Tip:This chutney goes well with idli,doasa or oothapam.
