This simple to make yummy dish was introduced to my mom, many many years ago by her friend Mrs Meena Tilve….and it was an instant hit with me……a kid at that time.
Ingredients:
6 slices of bread (White/Brown)
1/2 cup chopped/sliced Onions.
1/4 cup chopped/sliced Tomatoes.
2 tbsp Chopped Corriander leaves.
1 small cup Besan.
1 tsp Chilli powder.
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder.
1 tsp Dhana Jeera powder.
1/4 tsp ajwain.
Salt to taste.
Oil for roasting.
Method:
Cut bread slice diagonally, making two triangles out of each slice.
Mix all other ingredients together except oil in a bowl, adding little water at a time.
Consistency should be like thick batter.
Keep a non stick griddle to heat. Apply this mixture on one side of the bread, spreading evenly.
Smear little oil on the griddle and place bread slices on it,with the besan side down.
Roast on medium heat till besan is cooked and becomes crisp.
Turn around and cook on otherside till crisp.
Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
Tip:Other vegetables like grated carrots or minced cooked corn kernels can also be added to this besan mixtue.Instead of triangles bread can be cut in circle or long strips
