Ingredients:
1 cup Urad dal, soaked in water for 6-8 hr
2 cups Rice soaked in water for 6-8 hrs
1 tsp Green chilli paste
1 tsp Ginger paste
a pinch of Fruit salt.
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp Black Pepper powder.
1 tbsp Oil
1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
1 tsp Sesame seeds
1 tbsp Corriander leaves chopped
1 tbsp scraped Coconut.
Method:
Remove water from dal and rice and grind them separately to a fine paste.Like idli batter. Mix them together and allow to ferment for 6-8 hrs in a warm place.Once fermented, mix salt, chilli and ginger paste Grease a thali . Fill water in the steamer and allow to boil Add fruit salt,mix well and immediately pour in thali, 1 cup at a time .Sprinkle black pepper powder. Put in the steamer when steam comes out and steam for 10 minutes. Allow it to cool for 5 min and cut. Heat oil, add mustard seeds, after they crackle, add sesame seeds and pour on the dhoklas. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and grated fresh coconut Serve with green chutney or idli chutney.
