Falafel

Falafel is a chick pea patties,usually sandwiched between pita bread. This  sandwich is be moistened with hummus and stuffed with salad or pickled vegetables.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup kabuli chana (white chick peas)

1/4 cup chopped onions

1 tbsp chopped garlic (lehsun)

1/2 cup finely chopped Corriander leaves

salt to taste

Oil for deep-frying

Method:

Soak the kabuli chana in water overnight. Clean, wash and drain.

Blend in a mixer to a coarse paste with all the ingredients.

Add salt and mix well.

Divide the mixture into small equal portions and shape each portion into small flatten balls.

Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep-fry the balls till they turn golden brown.

Drain on absorbent paper.

Serve immediately with hummus (.http://wp.me/p2osBx-mJ)

Tip:For additional crispyness, falafel can be rolled in roasted sesame seeds before frying.
