Idli Manchurian



Quite an innovative recipe, the Idli Manchurian is prepared from leftover idlis which are simmered in a  Chinese style manchurian gravy. Enjoy as snacks or main course.


8  Idlis

Oil for Stir  fry

For Gravy:

2 cm piece of Ginger (finely chopped)

8 pods of Garlic(finely chopped)

1 Capsicum (cut into piecesl)

1/2 tsp Soya sauce

1/2 tsp Red Chilli sauce.

1 tbsp Tomato ketchup.

1 tbsp oil

2 tbsp cornflour dissolved in 1 cup of water.



Take 8 steamed idlis.


20160811_154028Cut idlis into small squares,or you can use mini idlis also.Heat oil in a pan and stir fry idlis till crisp.

Keep aside.


In a pan heat 1 tbsp oil .

Lightly fry chopped ginger and garlic,add chopped capsicum and saute for a minute.


Add soya sauce,chilli sauce and tomato ketchup.

Add cornflour mixed with 1 cups of water.Add salt.

Boil ,add idlis and simmer further for 2 minutes on slow heat.



Remove in a serving bowl and serve hot.
