This recipe belongs to my neighbour Mrs Khanzada, whenever she makes it a bowl full of it has to come to my house,so finally I decided to ask her for the recipe and was totally amazed by it,as it is such an easy and simple recipe. This dish can be served with rice or bhakri, but I love to have it on its own.

So here goes the recipe…

Ingredients :

1/2 Coconut grated.

Thick milk extraced from 1/2 Coconut.

2 Corn cobs cut into 6 prices.

2 Potatoes with skin cut into 4 peices.

1/2 cup Green Peas.

2 Green Chillies .

1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder .

Salt to taste.

For tempering

1 tbsp Oil.

1/2 tsp Mustard seeds.

1/2 tsp Jeera.

1/8 tsp Asafoetida  (Hing)

5 Curry Leaves.

2 Dried Red chillies.

Method :

In a thick bottom pan, add corn peices, potatoes and peas, add water sufficient enough to cover the vegetables, cover and cook on medium flame till vegetables are cooked.

In a mixie ground to smooth paste grated coconut, green chillies and turmeric powder.keep it aside.

Once the vegetables are cooked, add coconut paste and salt, mix well.cover and let it cook for 2 minutes more.

Now add thick coconut milk and mix well.Let it simmer  for  minute, ensuring it doesn’t start boiling.

Switch off the gas,in another vessel make tempering with oil, mustard seeds,Jeera, asafoetida, curry leaves and red chillies.

Pour it on top of the prepared dish, cover and let it stand for 2 minutes.

Serve hot with rice or bhakri.

Happy Cooking !!!

Sameera.
